(प्राणाग्निहोत्र विधि)

Consider:
Lotus in Heart as अरणीकाष्ठ araNikaaShTh (medium size wooden pieces)
Mind as a wooden wand used to ignite fire
Breathe as thread
Mouth as Fire known as आह्वनिय aahvaniya
Heart as Fire known as गार्हपत्य gaarhapatya
Navel as Fire known as दक्षिणाग्नि dakshiNaagni
स्वाधिष्ठान svaadhiShThaana (above ling/yoni) as Fire known as सभ्याग्नि sabhyaagni
मूलाधार moolaadhaara (below ling/yoni) as Fire known as आवसथ्याग्नि aavasathyaagni
Speech as होता hotaa
प्राण praaNa as उदगाता udgaataa
Eye as अध्वर्यु adhvaryu
Mind as ब्रह्मा brahmaa
Hearing as आग्निध्र aagnidhra
Pride as Animal offerred
praNava (OM) as Milk
Intellect as Wife
Chest as वेदि vedi (place for Fire ceremony)
Hair on body as दर्भ् darbh (sacred grass)
Both hands as स्त्रुच् struch and स्त्रुव struva

प्राणाहुति praaNaahuti:
आहुति aahuti (Oblation) with First finger, Middle finger and Thumb
क्षुधाग्नि kshudhaagni with golden complexion as ऋषि rushi
आदित्य aaditya (Sun) as देवता devataa (God)
गायत्री gaayatri as छन्द chhanda (metre, verse)
मन्त्र mantra (chant): ॐ प्राणाय स्वाहा ॥ इदमादित्यदेवाय न मम ॥
OM praaNaaya svaahaa | idamaadityadevaaya na mama | (OM, offering praaNa. This is for Sun, not for me. )

अपान  apaana:
आहुति aahuti (Oblation) with Middle finger, Third finger and Thumb
श्वेताग्नि shvetaagni with White complexion as ऋषि rushi
सोम soma (Moon) as देवता devataa (God)
उष्णिह् uShNih as छन्द chhanda (metre, verse)
मन्त्र mantra (chant): ॐ अपानाय स्वाहा ॥ इदं सोमाय न मम ॥
OM apaanaaya svaahaa | idam somaaya na mama | (OM, offering apaana. This is for Moon, not for me.)

व्यान  vyaana:
आहुति aahuti (Oblation) with Third finger, Last finger and Thumb
हुताशन hutaashana with Lotus complexion as ऋषि rushi
अग्नि agni (Fire) as देवता devataa (God)
अनुष्टुप् anuShTup as छन्द chhanda (metre, verse)
मन्त्र mantra (chant): ॐ व्यानाय स्वाहा ॥ इदमग्नये न मम ॥
OM vyaanaaya svaahaa | idamagnaye na mama | (OM, offering vyaana. This is for Fire, not for me.)

उदान  udaana:
आहुति aahuti (Oblation) with First finger, Last finger and Thumb
अग्नि agni with Earthworm like complexion as ऋषि rushi
वायु vaayu (Air) as देवता devataa (God)
बृहती bruhati as छन्द chhanda (metre, verse)
मन्त्र mantra (chant): ॐ उदानाय स्वाहा ॥ इदं वायवे न मम ॥
OM udaanaaya svaahaa | idam vaayave na mama | (OM, offering udaana. This is for Air, not for me.)

समान samaana:
आहुति aahuti (Oblation) with all five fingers
विरूपक् viroopak with lightening complexion as ऋषि rushi
पर्जन्य parjanya (Rain) as देवता devataa (God)
पङ्क्ति pankti as छन्द chhanda (metre, verse)
मन्त्र mantra (chant): ॐ समानाय स्वाहा ॥ इदं पर्जन्याय न मम ॥
OM samaanaaya svaahaa | idam parjanyaaya na mama | (OM, offering samaana. This is for Rain, not for me.)

Sixth आहुति aahuti (Oblation):
आहुति aahuti (Oblation) with all five fingers
वैश्वानर महान अग्नि vaishvaanara mahaana agni (Great Digestion Fire) as ऋषि rushi
परमात्मा paramaatmaa (Lord of Lords) as देवता devataa (God)
गायत्री gaayatri as छन्द chhanda (metre, verse)
मन्त्र mantra (chant): ॐ ब्रह्मणे स्वाहा ॥ इदं परमात्मने न मम ॥
OM brahmaNe svaahaa | idam paramaatmane na mama | (OM, offering great fire. This is for Lord of Lords, not for me.)

Person who does these six offerings everyday is eligible to be like ब्रह्म brahman. Here, all the five praaNa (special bodily forces) such as praaNa, udaana, vyaana, apaana, samaana are considered as being offered to Mother Kundalini.

    Explanation of some of the words:

    1)अरणीकाष्ठ araNikaaShTh
    piece of wood of the Shami tree used to kindle the sacrificial fire by attrition

    2) होता hotaa
    sacrificial priest, esp. the one who recites prayers from the Rigveda at a sacrifice; sacrifice; who
    offers oblations.

    3) उदगाता udgaataa
    priest who sings chants from saamaveda with louder voice

    4) अध्वर्यु adhvaryu
    priest who knows and uses yajurveda and who measures land, builds altar, brings all necessarry things and offers

    5) ब्रह्मा brahmaa
    priest who knows all 4 vedas and who monitors all activities in the ceremony

    5) आग्निध्र aagnidhra
    Place for altar or offering to fire

    6) दर्भ् darbh
    a type of grass. It is very sharp at both ends of leaves.

    7) गार्हपत्य gaarhapatya
    Household fire
    8) आह्वनिय aahvaniya
    Fire to the east side of host

    9) दक्षिणाग्नि dakshiNaagni
    Fire to the south side of host, also fire during marriage ceremony

    10) आवसथ्याग्नि aavasathyaagni
    Fire which stays at home

    11) प्राण praaNaa
    Air of breathing

    12) अपान apaana
    Air that goes out thru’ anal/rectum

    13) व्यान vyaana
    Air that circulates blood

    14) उदान udaana
    Air that takes soul and food upwards. Also for sneezing for joints

    15) समान samaana
    Air that circulates elements from food equally thru’out body

    hi chirag,
    May I suggest to read rudrastadyai, In one adhyay, the mantras are tvc chame tvacha chame…Means the whole universe is an alter and every thing is ahuti in that yagna
    Generally these starting mantras are recited on the occasion at funaral retuals. that means now our body and every part of body is ahuti of agni there are specific names of agni garhaspatya, klebya…and so on.
    so these mantras are not recited at home even If v chant whole rudrastyadyai
    Any how its laya and chanda is amazing.
